Logical Operations, the world’s leading provider of information technology instructor-led courseware, was a sponsor of the Securing Smart Technologies in a Cutting-Edge World cybersecurity summit hosted by the National Cyber Security Alliance at NASDAQ headquarters on October 24th. In addition, Bill Rosenthal, CEO of Logical Operations and Board Member of the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), and Joe Mignano, VP, Channels at Logical Operations, participated in NASDAQ’s Closing Bell Ceremony to support National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
At the event, Rosenthal and Mignano joined other high-level executives from sponsors such as Cisco, CompTIA, LifeLock, and Fasoo for a luncheon and remarks from Louis Modano, NASDAQ’s Senior Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer and Global Head of Infrastructure Services, and Michael Kaiser, NCSA Executive Director. Alison August Treppel, Acting Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism within the Organization of American States (OAS) Secretariat for Multidimensional Security, gave a keynote address on OAS’ cybersecurity efforts in North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Grant Schneider, Acting Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the federal government, also gave keynote remarks discussing the role of the newly created and appointed federal government CISO.
Following the opening and keynote remarks were two panel discussions, the first focusing on how the Internet of Things (IoT) is being secured at the enterprise level and what consumers need to know as this ecosystem evolves, and the second featuring a discussion on how to build a secure and resilient ecosystem that allows innovation to flourish and that address challenges around network connectivity, standardization and data governance. The event culminated in the NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony to continue the spotlight on National Cyber Security Awareness Month as October comes to an end.
“Logical Operations was honored to sponsor this NASDAQ event and participate in NASDAQ’s Closing Bell Ceremony today in support of National Cyber Security Awareness Month,” said Bill Rosenthal, CEO, Logical Operations. “At Logical Operations, we know that people are key to protecting themselves and their organizations from cyber-attacks; in fact, end-user awareness and training reduces security-related risks for organizations by 45% to 70%.
