Littleton, Colorado’s Northwest Surgery Center specializes in top-rated minimally invasive bunion, hammertoe, heel spur surgery, and treating other foot problems. Of course, with the recent national COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, other health concerns are at the top of the list of concerns for most people. And very real shortages of much-needed hospital supplies that can make safer treatment possible are happening. Responding to that need, Northwest Surgery Center is donating needed hospital supplies to their local hospital to help with shortages and their ability to safely treat people facing COVID-19 infection. The local community has greeted this news with enthusiasm.
“It’s an honor to be able to donate personal protective equipment and medical supplies to our fellow healthcare workers who are in the front lines combating this awful virus,” commented Michelle Kuenstler, Senior Medical Assistant/Lead Surgical Tech at Northwest Surgery Center.
David Grushey, Surgery Center Manager, agreed, stating, “More than ever, this is a time for everyone to rally together and get through this. The bottom line is, whatever is needed and however we can help, our team will be there for our community…period.”
Colorado is currently under an official State of Emergency as declared by Governor Jared Polis, and it is unclear how long the state of emergency will last. The local hospital being assisted by the team at Northwest Surgery Center is Littleton Adventist Hospital.
So far, respirator masks, surgical masks, exam gloves, sterile gowns, and shoe coverings have been donated to the hospital.
