New Propolis Plus Factor Grading System for Honey
Singapore (PRUnderground) June 6th, 2020
Little Green Bee works with farmers of stingless bees. These bees, which are closely related to species including carpenter bees, honeybees, and bumblebees, are active all year round and can be found in the wild in subtropical and tropical parts of the world including Southeast Asia, Australia, Africa, and tropical America. Stingless bees, are best known for producing honey with high anti microbial and antioxidant properties.
Little Green Bee uses only sustainably raised and harvested Trigona honey. These stingless bees are never artificially fed and their honey is extracted without destroying their hives. These bees are essentially free range and create exceptionally rich and tangy tasting honey. The honey is harvested in batches, which allows for a higher level of consistency with the honey.
“After extensive tests and research, we have discovered that the main reason for the benefits of our Trigona Itama Honey is due to the presence of propolis found in the honey. The honey contains propolis because the bees stores the honey in little pots of propolis unlike the typical honey bee which stores their honey in honey combs which have no notable benefits.” Said the team at Little Green Bee.
Inspired by their discovery, the team has sorted different batches of their signature Trigona Itama honey according to their PPF or Propolis Plus Factor, a standard which the company uses to determine the grade of the honey using a variety of methods including the quality and quantity of the propolis found in the honey. The higher the grading, the better the health properties of the honey.
Like the manuka honey, Little Green Bee’s Trigona itama honey has high antibacterial levels, also know as NPA (Non-peroxide activity), in which the grading is equivalent to the manuka standard UMF. Trigona Itama PPF+5 honey has been lab tested to be highly antibacterial, with NPA levels higher than the typical UMF +15 honey. As compared to manuka and other types of honey, Little Green Bees’s Trigona Itama honey is not only highly antibacterial; It also contains a wide range of nutrients and 17 different amino acids essential to our bodies. These amino acids are essential for the various functions of the human body including our mental health, gut health, liver functions, fat burn, as well as strengthening our immune system.
The tangy sweet taste of the Trigona itama honey is refreshing and is also commonly consumed as a natural remedy for sore throats, coughs and colds. Key benefits of regularly consuming Little Green Bee’s Trigona Itama honey include improved immune system, increased vitality, improved gut system, and improved respiratory health.
It is now available for purchase in 2 different grades, the Trigona Itama PPF +5, which is recommended for regular health maintenance, and PPF+15, which the team recommends for regular consumption on a regulated basis. More information can be found at https://littlegreenbee.com.sg/
