With eight locations in Washington state, NeuroStim TMS is a leading transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy provider. TMS is a non-sedating, FDA-approved outpatient treatment that can provide relief for individuals suffering from major depressive disorder, OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, and other mood disorders. Leading TMS technician Alex Engelbertson has provided more than 6,000 such treatments to NeuroStim patients, making him one of the most experienced providers nationwide.
For many individuals struggling with mental health conditions, traditional medication fails to relieve their symptoms or causes debilitating side effects. NeuroStim’s transcranial magnetic stimulation can lead to a reduction in mental health symptoms without side effects. Studies performed at leading medical institutions, including Walter Reed Medical Center, Johns Hopkins, and the Mayo Clinic, demonstrate that TMS is safe and effective. Data collected from NeuroStim patients since 2018 shows 71.5% of them experienced a minimum of 50% improvement in their symptoms, and 46.4% achieved full remission. TMS therapy is a valuable tool in the skilled hands of experienced providers, such as Alex Engelbertson.
“The growth we see in our treatment clinics across the state speaks volumes about the effectiveness and growing demand for TMS therapy,” remarked Walt Guidice, CEO of NeuroStim. “We opened three new facilities last year and anticipate more growth this year. Alex has been a big contributor to that growth. Having delivered thousands of treatments, he is at the top of his field as far as experience. We are honored to have him as part of the NeuroStim team.”
Alex Engelbertson attended Western Washington University, where he worked in the cognitive science lab and assisted with the publication of experimental results. He graduated from WWU with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience before taking a position with NeuroStim TMS Centers. An experienced TMS trainer and lead researcher, Alex continues to study the benefits and possibilities of TMS. His research has been featured in Brain Stimulation, the premier journal for publishing research in the field of neuromodulation. A recognized TMS expert, the Clinical TMS Society invited him to serve as a guest panelist at their 2021 Annual Meeting.
“We are just beginning to unlock the potential of TMS treatment to help individuals,” stated Guidice. “While we have FDA approval for some conditions, we believe that there is much more it can do to help people live healthier, fuller lives. Expert TMS researchers like Alex are helping to uncover the full range of conditions treatable with TMS therapy. The future for TMS at NeuroStim looks very bright. ”
