Las Vegas Coffee Roaster Teams up with New York Theatre Company to Hit the Big Time Off Broadway

Frankly Good Coffee, a Las Vegas Coffee Roaster, has hit the big time off Broadway, with a little help from a good friend. Glenn Frank and Heather Henderson have been friends for over 20 years. So when Heather wanted to include specialty coffee beans in the gift bags for Abingdon Theatre Company’s 20th Anniversary Gala in New York City, she knew just who to reach out to. Abingdon Theatre Company has one main goal — to develop and produce new plays exclusively by American playwrights.

“I’m excited for our honorees, guests and staff to experience Frankly Good Coffee,” says Heather, who is Abingdon’s Director of Development. “I know Glenn has a great product and I trust him completely after 20 years of friendship. I see this as a great opportunity for him and for Abingdon. A lot of big names will be drinking freshly roasted Frankly Good Coffee!”

The gala is happening on October 29th at Espace in New York City. The theme is “Setting the Stage for 20 Years” and Abingdon is thrilled to honor Tyne Daly, Shirley Herz, and Sam D. Altman. Lucie Arnaz and Laurence Luckenbill will host and Jonathan Halary and Julie Halston will give special performances.

This is Frankly Good Coffee’s first foray into the New York Theatre scene. Founded by Glenn Frank in July, 2011, as the answer to his wife’s incessant complaining about bad coffee, the company provides freshly roasted specialty coffee to residents of the Las Vegas Valley and to clients in states like Colorado and Arizona.

“My wife was never happy with coffee beans she bought off the store shelf – whether from a specialty coffee store or the super market she always said it didn’t taste good,” says Glenn. “So we started with home roasting, she learned to brew properly, and I didn’t have to hear it anymore!”

The home roasting progressed to a business when the economy took a toll on Glenn’s contracting and design business. Being an entrepreneur nearly his whole life, he started thinking of what else he could do . . . when he saw a man roasting coffee beans and selling them at a farmers market in Tucson, Arizona in May, 2011, the idea for Frankly Good Coffee was born.

“I could see it as a viable business” says Glenn. “We believe in a simple, easy, delicious cup of coffee. One of our goals is to rescue people from the mediocre cup of coffee. Using the right water, a solid brewing method and the freshest beans you can get is all you need to do. We’ve received a lot of support from friends and are grateful for the opportunity to ship 300 4oz bags to New York!”
