New joint venture partnership will enhance orthopedic and sports medicine care and increase access to high-quality orthopedic care for Nevada patients.
Las Vegas, NV (PRUnderground) February 28th, 2025
A joint venture partnership was recently announced between Intermountain Health and Crovetti Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (COSM) in the Las Vegas Valley that will enhance orthopedic and sports medicine care and increase access to high-quality orthopedic care for Nevada patients.
Leaders for both organizations say the new partnership illustrates a commitment to the community to meet the growing needs of patients in southern Nevada by increasing access to premier orthopedic and sports medicine care.
Crovetti Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine includes two ambulatory surgery centers – one in Henderson and one in the Summerlin area; a cardiovascular catheterization laboratory; an orthopedic medical group; an orthopedic home health agency; and recovery suites.
Intermountain Health is a not-for-profit health system that focuses on reducing overall medical costs and providing quality, proactive care while achieving the best health outcomes for patients.
The collaboration with COSM allows Intermountain to serve more patients for orthopedic-related services in Nevada.
“We are proud to join with Crovetti Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in offering high-quality, cost-effective care to the patients we serve,” said Mitch Cloward, president of Intermountain Health’s Desert Region. “Together we can continue to advance care in meaningful ways for our patients.”
Ambulatory surgery centers specialize in a specific set of procedures, allowing for greater efficiencies that lower cost while providing high-quality outcomes. For many patients, cost is their biggest worry, even when they have insurance. The ambulatory surgery center makes it more convenient for patients as well as more affordable, while maintaining high-quality surgical outcomes.
COSM offers care from nine providers – seven orthopedic surgeons, one surgical advanced practice registered nurse, one chiropractor – as well as a clinic team of registered nurses and physical therapists.
“We look forward to partnering with Intermountain Health to expand access to high-quality orthopaedic care to more patients throughout southern Nevada,” said Michael J. Crovetti, Jr., DO, chief executive officer of COSM. “It’s our mission to provide quality care through the highest standards of surgical techniques and treat each patient with the respect and dignity before, during, and post-operatively.”
COSM has provided quality and proven orthopaedic care for the Las Vegas Valley for more than 20 years, maintaining a very low infection and complication rate, excellent post-operative pain control, and the use of cutting-edge technologies in the treatment of hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, foot, ankle and spine problems.
COSM pioneered the first outpatient private surgery center and surgical recovery suites in Nevada with the Coronado Surgery Center and Surgical Recovery Suites, located at 2779 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway #200, Henderson, which opened in 2010.
In 2023, COSM opened the Queensridge Surgery Center and Surgical Recovery Suites at 10040 Alta Drive, #140, Las Vegas, including:
- Crovetti Orthopaedics, which offers 10 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, and a digital imaging center.
- The Queensridge Surgery Center, which offers four state-of-the-art operating rooms and a Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- The Queensridge Surgical Recovery Suites, which offer 10 post-surgery recovery suites along with a fitness facility.
Patients receive 24-hour personalized care and healthy catered meals within a private and relaxing setting, with highly trained nursing staff and physical therapy specialists to assist with recovery to get patients back home within 48 hours.
