PopMusic.com Declares “Sail Away Hey Hey Hey” the “Official Song of Summer”
Worldwide (PRUnderground) July 6th, 2022
The President of Pop’s new song, “Sail Away Hey Hey Hey”, has been declared “The Official Song of Summer” by PopMusic.com’s editorial staff. The Spotify playlist “Top 100 Greatest Songs of All Time” has included “Sail Away Hey Hey Hey” for the past month.
But who is behind the “Official Song of Summer”, “Sail Away Hey Hey Hey”?
A Google cache of PopMusic.com’s website lists the President of Pop’s “home planet” as “Asteroid P-420, the tiny dot just to the left of the third dimmest star in the sky tonight”, although even this tantalizing scrap of information appears to have bee scrubbed from PopMusic.com itself.
But no other clue is given about the artist(s) behind “Sail Away Hey Hey Hey”.
Who, in a world of social influencers craving fame, tries to hide his identity? Perhaps there are clues in the music itself.
Beatles fans will note the “middle eight” section of “Sail Away Hey Hey Hey” reminds the listener of the “middle eight” section of The Beatles’ classic song “Yellow Submarine”. Most strikingly, both are filled with nautical sound effects and unintelligible shouting.
More tantalising are the mysterious “words” on the Youtube page for “Sail Away Hey Hey Hey”, “rrats ognir yentraccm luap”, and similar clues in the comments section of Ringo Starr’s current birthday message. The attentive Beatle fanatic will note “Rrats Ognir” is an occasional pseudonym used by Ringo Starr, although no former use of the nom de plume Yentraccm Luap is easily found.
The final clue, for those “in the loop”, may be the first line of The President of Pop’s most notorious song, Google-ized by Google’s Eyes: “Every time you Google you’re misled; Lies are fed; Into your head.”
