IoT and Machine Learning Experts Gather in Boston for RE•WORK Summits

RE•WORK will host it’s annual East Coast events on Deep Learning and the Internet of Things in Boston on 12 & 13 May. Over 300 machine learning and IoT enthusiasts and experts will come together to hear keynote presentations, panel discussions, fireside chats and to explore the startup showcase area.
The Deep Learning Summit brings together leaders from industry, academia and startups to explore advances in deep learning methods and techniques, as well as their business applications in areas including finance, manufacturing, healthcare & transportation. Keynote presentation from deep learning expert Yoshua Bengio, Full Professor at Université de Montréal. Professor Bengio is also Head of the Machine Learning Laboratory, Co-director of the CIFAR Neural Computation & Adaptive Perception program, and editor of many prestigious machine learning publications.
Tony Jebara, Director of Machine Learning Research at Netflix, presents Double-cover Inference in Deep Belief Networks
Nashlie Sephus, CTO at Partpic, will present an Industrial-Strength Pipeline for Recognizing Replacement Parts
Daniel McDuff, Director of Research at Affectiva, on Turning Everyday Devices into Health Sensors. Daniel’s work has been reported on in The Times, the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BBC News, New Scientist and Forbes magazine. Daniel is also a Research Affiliate at the MIT Media Lab.
Vivienne Sze, Assistant Professor at MIT, on Building Energy-Efficient Accelerators for Deep Learning. Vivienne’s team have recently designed a new chip, dubbed ‘Eyeriss’, specifically to implement neural networks which has been featured in MIT News, The Register, InformationWeek and The Verge.

Blade Kotelly, VP Design at Jibo, on Personal Robotics and User Experience in the Smart Home. Blade Kotelly wrote the book on speech-recognition interface design (Addison Wesley, 2003) and The Art and Business of Speech Recognition: Creating the Noble Voice
Sean Lorenz, Founder & CEO of Senter, looks at the ‘Actually Smart Smart Home’. Dr. Lorenz was recently the Director of IoT Market Strategy for LogMeIn’s IoT platform as well as cofounder of the TechStars robotics startup Neurala.
Chris Jones, VP of Technology at iRobot, will explore Robots and the Future of Smart Home Innovation
