Invention City is now seeking to license a patented ointment applicator with antimicrobial handle that reduces the spread of infections
Boston, MA (PRUnderground) July 19th, 2016
Invention City is now offering manufacturers in the wound care products business the opportunity to exclusively license the recently patented Antibacterial Ointment Applicator .
The new invention is an anti-microbial or anti-bacterial treated applicator that is used to apply ointment or cream on babies and others. The applicator is intended for use by consumers, hospitals, clinics and staff to help prevent the spread of bacteria that can occur when treating areas that are infected.
“This will add one more layer to current protocols used to prevent the spread of infections,” said Mike Marks, President of Invention City. Vice President Dan Fulford added, “the Wound Care Product Manufacturing industry recorded six billion dollars in revenue in 2015 and is growing at five percent each year. We’re pleased to bring a great new product to this industry. Demand for ways to minimize the spread of infections is growing.”
The invention is the brain child of inventor Sherry Frith. Frith said she created the device because, in her words, “I’ve watched too many hospital personnel delay and avoid addressing infected areas. Wound care protocol focuses on antibacterial everything, except the applicator that’s placed at the affected site.”
The Antibacterial Ointment Applicator was granted US patent number 9345868 in May 2016. The patent has seventeen claims, three of them independent.
Invention City is working on a revenue sharing basis to find a licensee, negotiate on Frith’s behalf, close a royalty deal and then maintain a long term relationship that may include extending the product line with more new inventions.
