Recognized by Healogics, Platte Valley designation highlights outstanding clinical and operational results
Brighton, CO (PRUnderground) April 5th, 2023
Intermountain Platte Valley Medical Center’s Advanced Wound Center and Hyperbarics program has been recognized as a 2022 Center of Distinction by Healogics, a national leader in providing advanced wound care.
To be named a Center of Distinction, the wound care program met or exceeded certain metrics in clinical and operational performance including achieving a patient satisfaction score of more than 92 percent.
“We have worked hard to build a team that truly enjoys what we do,” said Jami Griffith, program manager. “That passion for our work carries over into how we care for our patients.”
About 8 million people in the United States live with chronic wounds, which don’t heal on their own and often are caused by diseases that affect blood circulation. Chronic wounds also may occur with people who use wheelchairs or are bedridden. The wounds can be painful and stress a person’s overall physical and emotional health, which is why accessing high-quality wound care is important.
The hospital’s Advanced Wound Center and Hyperbarics program is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 wound care centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
The wound care experts provide several wound treatment options including the northeast Denver area’s only hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This treatment works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
The wound center consists of physicians, podiatrists, nurse practitioners and skilled wound nurses.
