It goes without saying that the disaster happening in Eastern Europe is being felt across the world. Families have been displaced, brave souls have forsaken all else to stand with their country, and millions are wondering how Ukraine will even begin to rebuild from this tragedy. fctory.io is a social project designed to provide support and resources to Ukrainian people of all ages.
Currently, there are dozens of confirmed cases of amputations among children, yet the media fails to tell their stories. Maimed and forgotten by a world more focused on tweeting support than lending a helping hand, fctory.io created a purpose-driven mission to build a bionic prostheses factory in Ukraine to improve the quality of life for amputees, create countless jobs, and cultivate community for a country in need.
In Ukraine, there has never been a high-tech production of bionic prosthetic arms and legs. The same is true for any system of further rehabilitation of the victims. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that this is a void that will need to be filled when the dust settles on the chaos and fighting within Ukraine.
Unfortunately in Ukraine, children do not have access to bionic prostheses, only traditional prostheses that do not move, therefore limiting a child’s participation in society. These children will be unable to live a normal life due to a lack of function, and fctory.io is calling upon the rest of the world to help.
Modern prostheses are equipped with electronics and can be quite fragile, as a result of which our own production in Ukraine will simplify the maintenance of bionic prostheses and reduce the repair time from months to several days. fctory.io will be working hand in hand with the community, the government and lawyers to automate the process of receiving assistance for disabilities.
fctory.io has put together a strategic plan to help bring this idea to life. First, fctory.io will begin fundraising, team building, and lay the groundwork for construction. From there, they will complete construction on the factory and begin developing rehabilitation programs and begin bionic prostheses development. Lastly, they will create an MVP (minimum viable product) and begin testing and production to create a trusted resource for the Ukrainian people.
Through proof of concept, dedication to innovation, and unwavering commitment to supporting the people of Ukraine, fctory.io‘s purpose-driven vision is coming to fruition.
