Hardbacon, a personal finance application used by more than 35,000 Canadians, released today its ranking of Canada’s 20 most influential women in crypto and blockchain.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2022, this list acknowledges the strong females paving the way for the next generation of leaders by forging the path for gender equalities in male-dominated industries. While the tech and finance industry have been historically male-dominated, today women in crypto and blockchain is a growing segment featuring a number of women worth celebrating.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #BreakingTheBias, which means encouraging a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. What better time than now to address the gender gap in finance and technology and to empower women.
“Women have been influential players across industries and it’s about time we see representation for women within the tech world,” said Heidi Unrau, Hardbacon’s in-house money expert. “Crypto and blockchain are here to stay and it’s encouraging to discover the number of women who are rising to the occasion.”
From Montreal to Vancouver, the list is composed of innovators like Amber D. Scott, the founder, CEO and Cheif AML “Ninja” of Outlier Soultions; Brenda L Krause, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Bitvo; as well as Elena Sinelnikova, best known as the Founder and CEO of CryopChicks; a non-profit organization dedicated to blockchain education for women.
