The popular Villa holiday destination Cala Blanca is a wonderful purpose-made resort that not only features a stunning beach and facilities but is also in a prime location for visiting the rest of the Island of Menorca.
Our Villas in Cala Blanca are just five kilometres from the city of Ciudadela which hosts one of the largest and most popular festivals in the whole of Menorca. The feast of Saint Joan takes place each year on the 23rd and 24th of June and is a fabulous spectacle that all visitors to Menorca should experience to soak up the Islands history and culture.
The festival celebrates the start of the summer solstice and incorporates many rituals and folklore tales that Spaniards have formed about the theme of the triumph of light over the dark. You can expect to see many sights and sounds that will amaze you throughout the festival, the day is celebrated all over the Spanish mainland and its islands and each region has its own style and range of events. Horse riders are commonplace during festivities and they can often be seen ‘dancing’ on their back legs in the crowded streets, the horses and their riders are also known to ride through people’s houses at times!
Why not book a Villa in Menorca this summer and experience everything that the island has to offer including the Saint Joan Festival and much more.
