Energy Marketing Conferences, the country’s largest producer of events in the competitive energy industry, announced today it is expanding into the regulated utility market with the newly formed, “Utility 2030 Collaborative.” Built by utilities for utilities, it is a modern, practical membership-based offering that will provide utility leaders with the resources and professional contacts necessary to build transformation models and road-maps.
Because traditional procurement methods weren’t designed to support enterprise-wide digital transformation, the cloud and overall connectedness, it will offer a new format for understanding vendor competencies and building long-term relationships.
Admission to its flagship event, themed “Envision 2030”, is among the membership benefits. It will be held at the beautiful Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida November 17 – 18, 2020 and feature utility executives leading their company’s transformation strategies.
“There is a gap in the market for working groups that span multiple technologies, departments and projects,” says Jack Doueck, co-founder of Energy Marketing Conferences. “Larry Leiken and I are thrilled to be bringing all of the moving parts together under the direction of an advisory board of this caliber. We are also excited that Vanessa Edmonds is chairing our board. She has spent her entire career focused on thought-leadership to help utilities understand and address problems and opportunities. She is a consummate pro who is working with the board to bring the right information to the right people through a modern format that makes collaboration easy.”
Meet the Board
While Energy Marketing Conferences is fueling the operational aspects of the Collaborative, its board members—made up of dynamic, utility executives—are leading its strategic direction and content based on their proprietary transformation framework. Founding utility board members committed to this effort include:
- Jody Allison, VP of Transformation, Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.
- Nicole Howard, Chief Customer Officer, SMUD
- Frankie McDermott, Chief Energy Delivery Officer, SMUD
- Cecil McMaster, Business Information Officer, NYC Environmental Protection
- James Riley, Digital and Analytics Advisor, Sempra
- Sean Vanslyke, CEO, SEMO Electric Cooperative and GoSEMO Fiber
Board nominations are still being accepted to ensure equal representation across IOUs, municipalities and cooperatives offering electricity, natural gas, water and wastewater. Those who wish to nominate a utility vice president, president or c-suite professional, should send details to info@utility2030.com. Self-nominations are welcome.
According to Jody Allison, a founding board member, “With so many unknowns calling priorities into question, the board is committed to ensuring that The Utility 2030 Collaborative offers relevant, clear, valuable and manageable opportunities to help participants understand and manage disruptive forces that are forever changing business as we know it today. We will be working together to create our future and leverage these opportunities.”
While the disruptive forces driving the utility industry towards a new and different future are non-negotiable, utility leaders can embrace them by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the Utility 2030 Collaborative. Those who wish to learn more should visit www.utility2030.com.
