Electronic Health Record Innovator HiMS Leader Ed Nelson Wins 2019 C-Suite Award for “Chief Operating Officer of the Year"

Healthcare Information Management Systems (HiMS), an Electronic Health Records (EHR) software company dedicated to creating value-based care tools for integrated health care providers, today announced its leader Ed Nelson was named “Chief Operating Officer of the Year” in this year’s C-Suite Awards presented by the Phoenix Business Journal. Nelson was selected for playing a pivotal role in transforming ideas into finished products and for his dedication to community service.

With more than 15 years of experience within the healthcare technology field, Nelson has demonstrated both an entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial spirt. With an innate ability to quickly identify and actualize valuable ideas that maximize organizational capabilities, operations, expand service offering, increased market share both domestic and internationally, achieved through cost-effective solutions. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of La Verne, which he achieved during his time serving in the United States Navy, additionally he holds various Six Sigma Certifications.

Nelson frequently volunteers with Andre House, a Phoenix organization that helps the homeless by providing hospitality, dinner and ministry services, as well as transitional houses to help guests find employment. Nelson also volunteers with Stepping Stones of Hope, a local organization that helps children cope with the loss of loved ones. The organization nurtures children through an immersive camp experience where they begin to process grief through music, art and storytelling.
