Drive Nation will introduce Stevie Mussie as its new Director of Volleyball, Jermaine O’Neal, founder and owner of Drive Nation announced today. As Director of Volleyball, Mussie will lead some of the game’s top junior volleyball coaches in developing the next generation of elite junior volleyball club players at the new Drive Nation Sports Complex, scheduled to open at the DFW Airport in September.
“I’m proud to announce the hiring of our new Director of Volleyball, Stevie Mussie! I’m extremely excited to have such a talented, energetic leader to run our girls program. Her experience and success at the college level, both as a player and coach, will bring incredible insight and value to the Drive Nation Volleyball Club.” said O’Neal.
Mussie is a graduate of the University of Washington, where she was a team member of the Huskies women’s volleyball team that won the 2005 national championship team and competed in the 2006 NCAA Final Four Championships.
As a coach, Mussie served as assistant coach at Penn State University during their national championship title in 2014. Mussie also held assistant coaching positions at the University of Colorado (2008), North Carolina State (2010-11) and the University of Virginia (2012-13). Mussie most recently was head coach at Arizona State University in 2016. Mussie is anticipated to coach the top U18 and U12 teams for Drive Nation this season.
Mussie added, “I would like to thank Jermaine O’Neal and the Drive Nation team for the opportunity to be a part of one of the most cutting edge and innovative volleyball club programs in the country. The transition to junior club volleyball is very exciting to me because the developmental aspect of the game has always had a special place in my heart.”
Drive Nation will host a Volleyball Club Open House for interested junior club volleyball players on Thursday, July 13th and Friday, July 14th from 6-8pm at the Cambria Hotel in Southlake, Texas located at 2104 E. State Hwy. Interested players and parents will have the opportunity to visit with Mussie and O’Neal to learn more about the new Drive Nation Volleyball Club.
Complimentary beverage will be provided to attendees. Some of Drive Nation’s key partners will join the Drive Nation Volleyball team to discuss their role in support of the new club, including EXOS, Pepsi, Gatorade and the Andrews Institute.
