Dr. Carney’s medical career began at The University of Missouri at Kansas City, Missouri, where he was awarded his bachelor’s degree of science in biology in 1978. He then received his medical degree from The University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. Dr. Carney completed an internship and residency for Internal Medicine at the University Of Kansas Medical Center. In 1983, he completed a fellowship in Cardiology from the University of Missouri/Columbia, Missouri.

To stay abreast of the latest developments in his field, Dr. Carney maintains memberships and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
