Dr. Kami Hoss of The Super Dentists Introduces New Children’s Exhibit at Discovery Museum

Dr. Kami Hoss and his team at leading dentist The Super Dentists are educating children on good oral health in an out-of-the-box way through a brand-new exhibit called Grin Land! at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum.

This educational and interactive exhibit, which is highly anticipated, made its debut in September 17. The exhibit is designed to cater to young children as well as their parents/caregivers. Visitors can find it in the museum’s Our Town: Careers and Community exhibit space, which is tailored to children between the ages of 0 and 10. This part of the museum was created to expose children to the types of places they may visit or experience in real life and to facilitate career exploration in a fun way.
In the exhibit, visitors can play with props and tools such as toothbrushes, giant floss, and teeth that are life sized. The exhibit also features a dental office reception desk that The Super Dentists sponsored.
According to Dr. Hoss, an orthodontic expert, the dental office’s exhibit will teach children how valuable it is to practice good hygiene. Grin Land! is also aimed at showing children that going to the dentist can truly be a fun experience.
Another goal of the dental specialist when putting together the exhibit was to especially tackle a major dental problem seen in the local community: cavities. About one-fifth of children have cavities that have not been treated, and Dr. Hoss said that this can cause infections and pain. Children may end up struggling to learn, play, speak, and even eat as a result. In fact, research shows that children who lack good oral health have a tendency to miss school more often and thus earn lower grades.
However, through the exhibit, children can learn to view the dentist in a positive light. This, in turn, may motivate them to continually go to the dentist and thus maintain good oral health long term.
