Doherty Enterprises Raises More Than $200,000 for Annual Toys for Tots® Campaign

This marks the 24th anniversary of Doherty’s commitment to Doin’ Good in the Neighborhood® through its Applebee’s® restaurants in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Georgia

Today, Doherty Enterprises announced it raised more than $200,000 in support of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots® Program at its Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar restaurants in New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, and on Long Island, NY. The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots® Program distributes new toys to underprivileged children each year during the holiday season.
Doherty-owned Applebee’s locations in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, and New York raise funds annually for the Toys for Tots® Foundation. This year, through the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, donations will be used to purchase new toys for area families in need.
“At each of our Applebee’s restaurants our goal is to have a lasting, positive impact on the neighborhoods we serve, and the results of this annual initiative encompass the hope in the community,” said Kurt Pahlitzsch, Vice President of Operations at Doherty Enterprise. “The Toys for Tots program allows us to help underserved children in the local communities we work in, and every year we’re honored to do our part, in partnership with our guests, to give back to these children and their families.”
The fundraising campaign, which ran from November 1, 2022, to January 1, 2023, included donations from the purchase of holiday-inspired cocktails, as well as “paper gift” donations that were hung throughout the restaurants. Guests also had the opportunity to “round up” the totals on their meal checks or make separate cash donations to help show their support for the cause.
Since 1998, Doherty Enterprises has raised more than $5 million through its Toys for Tots campaign at participating Applebee’s restaurants to benefit local communities.
