DC is getting its very own streaming service, called Quadrant!

Industry: Entertainment & Games

DC lands another tech company.

DC, Maryland, Virginia (PRUnderground) March 2nd, 2021

Quadrant is a startup company launching  in 2022 to provide OTT (Over-Top-Content)content to local entertainment hubs around the nation.

Quadrant in 2020 initially surveyed several major cities that were entertainment hubs, to determine its launching place. The District of Columbia was picked as it headquarters, beating Atlanta, New York City, and Los Angeles.

CEO and Founder Ivan Cloyd and President Rob Gordon have over twenty (20) years of experience in the television business. They are both natives from Washington DC and  feel the best place to get this  other place to launch than DC, Home!! The nation’s capital is the ideal location that will enhance the scope and introduce the area skills and talents to the world.  Washington, DC is place that we feel has been overlooked for years says Cloyd.  The TV experience shared by Ivan and Rob include major television networks from ID Channel, ABC, BET, NBC, TV One, Comedy Central and more. Having the ability to navigate in these experiences has laid the foundation for the collaboration of this project and it is proven that all efforts have yielded a harvest.

Quadrant will bring a Netflix style streaming service tailored for the District of Columbia’s entertainment and culture business. Quadrant will host the Districts movies, podcast, biopics, and invest in new TV shows tailored for DC’s social influencers. Quadrant has will go one step further by providing a Livestream feature for local townhall events and local High School sports.

According to Business Strategy Hub, Netflix is reaching market saturation with its North American consumer base and is finding difficulties reaching local urban areas. “Most governmental municipalities aren’t aware that in the future they will have to have a digital archives of its culture and if the municipalities themselves don’t create the ecosystem then some big corporation will come and do it anyway but without the community support or buy in” says Cloyd. Ivan Cloyd and Rob Gordon wanted to be the 2 who tackled the issue first.

Quadrant will be providing workforce development training to residents of the District in Production, Broadcasting, Acting and Entrepreneurship which included plan to hire trainees. Ivan and Rob both felt that traveling outside of the area to pursue television opportunities needs a change, especially due to this being the home two of the first major black cable networks BET and TV One.  This partnership would allow community buy-in while introducing locals to the 21st Century in Television, Entertainment and will surely enhance the job market.

DC has birthed many top tier entertainers says Cloyd and Quadrant is that platform to allow and create the opportunities that have been much needed. Cloyd plans to have a state of the art streaming and training facility and have narrowed down the focus to Wards 7 and 8 for Quadrants home. Quadrant has partnered with Comcast NBC Universals for a 13 week incubator program. It is a shared collaborative effort and welcome all to our adventure. We welcome all that to the new DC Streaming and Entertainment environment.  With your support we will begin to establishing DC as a premiere location for these types  of opportunities.Quadrant is here to stay!
