Danbury Urgent Care Center Opens On Main Street

Danbury, CT.  Doctors Express, Danbury’s first urgent care center, opened its doors last week with a VIP gala  cocktail celebration followed by a fun-filled community open house.  The Center located at 2 Main street is the first urgent care franchise in Connecticut.  “We are delighted  by the  huge turnout, the warm response we have received from the community and the unwavering support from the both Mayors Office and the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce.  We feel very much at home, here, “commented Tom Kelly, Doctors Express’ Managing Partner.

The VIP reception culminated in a yellow ribbon cutting ceremony with Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton doing the honors, while hundreds watched.  “Danbury is excited to have Doctors Express on Main Street offering critically needed cost efficient health services and thrilled about all of the jobs they have created in the city from construction to staffing.”

Among the guests toasting the new walk in medical center:  Bobbi Jo Beers, Executive Director of The Bethel Chamber of Commerce, Judge Diane Yamin, Chairman of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, Denis Elpern,  Suzen Pettit of Omaginarium Marketing, Danbury City Planner and Danbury architect, Leigh Overland along with Dr. Donna Boylan of Bethel and The Westerner’s Mike Malone.

Festivities concluded with the raising of the flag and the singing of the National Anthem

The Urgent Care Center’s VIP celebration was followed by a community open house with fun and festivities for neighborhood families.  The Big Apple Circus’ Leo the Nose created whimsical balloon sculptures. Katie Nunez , face painting artist, transformed even the most reluctant into fanciful creatures.  Everyone enjoyed baskets of apples and yummy oatmeal cookies, compliments of  Stew Leonard’s.  Fire Chief Geoffrey Herald and Engine 22 fire fighters  offered tours of their fire engine and The Family Literacy Mobile distributed free books to young readers. It was a great day for young and young at heart.
