Breaking research has found that fresh fruit consumption is associated with lower risks of both heart attacks and stroke. These findings came from several annual studies examining about 500,000 Chinese adults. Participants were chosen on the basis that they didn’t have a history of anti-hypertensive treatments or heart disease before participating.
The results showed a 100-gram portion of fruit each day being associated with a reduction of cardiovascular deaths by 33%. This link was similar in both genders. The study compared participants who rarely consumed fresh fruit. Participants who ate fruit daily had lower blood glucose levels and lower systolic blood pressure.
“We know that the benefits of eating three servings of fruit daily is tremendously effective. So it makes it easy to sell our product.” said Miri Day of Crown Heights Florist and Fruit Baskets.

Wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds before and after you handle fresh fruits.
Before and after preparing fresh fruits, clean all utensils and surfaces, including cutting boards and knives, with soap and hot water.
Wash the produce just before use by rinsing it under running water
· While washing under running tap water, rub firm-skinned fruits by hand or scrub with a clean brush. Do not forget to wash those fruits with rinds or skins that are not eaten, such as squash and watermelon.
· Don’t wash packaged fruits and vegetables labeled “ready-to-eat” or “washed.” This may cause contamination of the clean produce.
· Dry the fruits with a clean paper towel.
Never use soap or bleach to wash fresh fruits, because these products are not meant to be eaten.
· Refrigerate at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit all cut or peeled, fresh fruits within two hours of preparing. Make sure to have a thermometer in your refrigerator to ensure a safe temperature.
