Crowdnetic, the leading provider of technology and market data solutions to the crowdfunded securities and peer lending industry, releases its monthly PIPR (Private Issuers Publicly Raising) data analysis for the period ending February 28, 2014. This research is the follow up to the Jobs Act Title II: The First 120 Days in Review report and is the first of regular monthly updates providing detailed analysis and research conducted by the Crowdnetic team on the activity of PIPRs. Since September 23, 2013, Crowdnetic has aggregated and normalized data on 3,240 PIPRs, of which 2,594 are currently active and included on Crowdnetic’s data platform, CrowdWatch, and its private offerings content suite on MarketWatch. The report presents relevant data and detailed analysis by sector, industry, and region as well as by type of security and type of issuer.
The current report also contains a section dedicated to the analysis of women-led and women-owned PIPRs sponsored by Springboard Enterprises, the Kingdom Trust Company and Ventureneer. This includes information regarding the number of women-led companies relative to all PIPRs as well as a focus on capital committed. The number of women-led companies is also analyzed in detail by region and sector, featuring a section on the top industries for women-led companies by number of PIPRs.
The report provides a thorough review and comparison of Form D filings for Rule 506(b) and 506(c) offerings since September 23, 2013. Approximately $116.6 million in capital commitments have been recorded. The Services sector emerges as the largest in terms of both number of offerings and recorded capital committed, followed by Technology. Regionally, the Western Region of the United States dominates the space with an overwhelming amount of PIPR activity in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Silicon Valley.
