Columbus Landmarks Honors A Tribe for Jazz with Paul E. Young Outstanding Achievement in Education Award

A Tribe for Jazz is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Paul E. Young Outstanding Achievement in Education Award by Columbus Landmarks. This esteemed recognition honors the legacy of Paul E. Young, a founding Trustee of Columbus Landmarks and a longtime Professor of Architecture at Ohio State University. The award celebrates individuals and organizations leading the discovery of new dimensions of Columbus’s architectural and historical legacy.

The award ceremony took place on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the CCAD Design Studios on Broad Street. Columbus Landmarks hosted the event, which was attended by esteemed community members who have made significant contributions to preserving and celebrating the city’s rich history and culture.

A Tribe for Jazz joins an illustrious list of award winners who have made remarkable contributions to the community:

  • Henry L. Hunker Urban Legacy Award – Marshall Shorts, Creative-in-Chief at Artfluential, Bronzeville Universe
  • Paul E. Young Outstanding Achievement in Education Award – Stephanie Matthews, A Tribe for Jazz
  • Frederick J. Holdridge Outstanding Group Award – The STEAM Factory, The College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio State University
  • Dixie Sayre Miller Patron Award – Bexley Historical Society, Bexley Historical Portraits of Memories
  • James L. Keyes President’s Award – Dr. Nathan Harris
  • Larrilyn Edwards Connector Award – Brian Williams, Journalist
  • Ed Lentz Prize – The documentary film of Jack’s/Summit Station entitled, “Free Beer Tomorrow”

Columbus Landmarks continues to recognize and celebrate individuals and groups who play a pivotal role in preserving the historical and architectural narrative of Columbus. The Paul E.
