Robert Soler to Present Aspects of Human Centric Lighting and Circadian Impact
Melbourne, Florida (PRUnderground) October 20th, 2016
BIOS Lighting, a manufacturer and recognized innovator of LED lighting solutions for biological and horticultural industries, today announced that BIOS VP of Human Biological Research and Technologies Robert Soler will deliver the keynote speech at Solid State Lighting Hawaii’s Lighting Tech Tour 2016 in Honolulu on Oct. 26-27.
Soler’s topic for discussion is human centric lighting and how LED lighting offers the ability for spectrum tuning, not just color tuning. During his talk, he will present current scientific literature covering aspects of human centric lighting application.
“There is a lot of discussion about color temperature and circadian impact,” said Soler. “I’ll introduce scientific data to shed light on the difference between the color and spectrum for optimal melanopsin sensitivity.”
Prior to BIOS, Soler worked at Kennedy Space Center where he assisted in designing and building the first LED light for use on the International Space Station (ISS) and collaborated with scientists to use LED light for photo biological purposes in space. His years of experience as an electrical and lighting engineer have led him to become an inventor of 73 issued patents in the U.S. Soler’s knowledge on the subject of human lighting makes him an excellent resource for lighting professionals.
The Lighting Tech Tour 2016 is a two-day immersion into LED lighting technologies that provides educational courses geared towards architects, interior designers and engineers. The event will be help at Fort Street Mall in Honolulu on October 26 and 27. For more information, visit www.solidstatehawaii.com.
