While for many of us, this weekend ushered in a change on our calendars, for one young man, this weekend changed his life. On March 1, 17-year old, Wes realized his dreams of becoming a professional recording artist. He even got to make his own music video.
We’re all familiar with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the absolutely incredible lengths they reach to fulfill the wishes of young children across the world. When recording artist Rayo Cole heard about Wes, she knew exactly how she could help. Cole created a project called “My Song” that gives children with cancer and other terminal illnesses the chance to record and original song and even film their very own music video. Partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the premier wish-granting organization for children, Cole organized an amazing team in the Los Angeles area. Two-time contributors The Invaders/InvadeAvision are back on board to offer their recording studio, songwriting advice and overall musical wherewithal to the project. The music production group is best known for their work with Dawn Richard (platinum girl group Danity Kane) on “Novacane Remix”.
In 2013, My Song teamed up with mega-boyband, Epic Records mega-girl group, as well as X Factor Season 3′s Josh Levi. In concert with these talents, the group is sure to solidify their status in popular nomenclature.
The team closed a very successful weekend for Wes. While the specifics of the music video are under wrap until it’s world-premier, we can promise you shots filled to the brim with models and actors from old friends, Barbizon Modeling and Talent. No stranger to The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Barbizon has worked with the company to put on awe-inspiring presentations for children in the past, such as a fashion show in New Jersey and Urban Traveler in Arizona. The academy boasts highly trained students who are more than eager to help the My Song project and The Make-A-Wish Foundation in any way.
