The combination of batt and board siding and stone columns draw your eye towards the Hood River house plan. The blend of natural materials and low angled roof pitches give this house plan a distinctly priaire look – a style pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright in the early 1900s.
From the street this design appears to be 1 story, however a glimps along the side of the home shows this plan is designed for a hillside lot and offers another level of living in the walk-out basement.
Tall ceilings draw you in through the covered porch and into the foyer. A bench and coat closet are nearby. Through a set of French doors is the den. This space provides homeowner’s flexbility. It’s location by the front door makes the den an ideal room to furnish as a home office or remote learning room. If an extra bedroom is needed it could easly become a guest bedroom.
The back of the floor plan is filled with the great room. This modern arrangement is relaxed and informal. Living room, dining room, and kitchen are all open to one another. Between the dining room and great room is a gas fireplace which can be enjoyed throughout the space. The main great room is graced with soaring vaulted ceilings while the dining room is decorated with a stepped ceiling providing some visual separation of the different rooms.
The master suite is on the main floor and serves as an ideal retreat. Features include a private bathroom with twin sinks and compartmentalized shower and toilet. Accessed from the bathroom is a generous sized walk-in closet.
This three bedroom house plan has the sleeping areas split between the floors. In the daylight basement are two secondary bedrooms that share a full bathroom. Also in the basement is an additional family room making this floor plan ideal for larger families or those who like to entertain.
