AMS Vans to Host MENA Career Expo, Participate in ALS Walk and Diversability Expo

AMS Vans — the largest wheelchair accessible vehicle manufacturer and mobility dealer in the Southeast — is bringing a message of accessibility and adaptability in the community by participating and hosting in a variety of unique events.

The first is the Metropolitan Employment Networking Association (MENA) Disability Career Expo on Friday, October 6th at 10 am in the AMS Vans showroom. Co-hosted with Georgia Pacific, the fair features over 20 companies offering job opportunities to disabled applicants. MENA, a 501c non-profit community organization offers career resources and support to meet the employment needs of the disability and business communities.

Also, on Saturday, October 7th, AMS Vans will participate in the Walk to Defeat ALS at the International Plaza of the Georgia World Congress Center. In their 4th year as a sponsor and participant, the AMS Vans delegation will join almost 3,000 registered participants as they walk 2.5 miles to raise funds that allow local ALS Association chapters to sustain care services and support research in the mission to cure the disease.

AMS Vans Director of Community Relations and Business Development Dallas Crum explain, “Hosting the Career Expo and walking for ALS are two events that are close to our hearts — this is actually our 4th year as a Walk to Defeat ALS sponsor and we’re honored for the opportunity to make a real difference in our community and in the lives of the people we serve“.

Finally, the AMS Vans team will participate in the Diversability: Strategies, Resources, Awareness event on October 6th at the Marietta Campus of Kennesaw State University. The Presidential Commission on Disability Strategies and Resources at KSU in coordination with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency is hosting its first expo/conference concerning universal design and education as a means to empower people of all abilities. This will be AMS Vans’ first year in participation in the Diversability event.
