From her debut album “Prodigal” Mary McGuinness releases her first single from the project, “Silver Edge.” The song follows the recent release of “The Gambler,” a cover of Kenny Rogers’ original song.
“Silver Edge” is inspired by the twists and turns her life has taken. Pulling from happenings and heart-to-hearts along her journey, the artist advocates bravery and an unyielding sense of self. With melodic instrumentals and pithy lyrics, Mary proves she is a force to be reckoned with. “Silver Edge” is sure to resonate with folk music lovers across the country.
Earlier this month, Mary released her cover of “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers. The cover, released coincidentally on the same day as his passing, was her tribute to the legendary singer. Her personal connection to the song and the fact that she shares Rogers’ Texas roots adds a sentimental touch to the cover.
Up next, Mary McGuinness will be releasing another song, “Prodigal” April 24th. This single is from her upcoming debut album of the same name.

About Mary McGuinness
Mary McGuinness is a Los Angeles based artist and is of Korean and Irish descent. Although she started out in opera and musical theatre — even taking her talents to Broadway — Mary has been working under another project, touring extensively throughout the U.S. and releasing four albums. She has supported acts such as TRAIN, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Shawn Colvin, and Kenny Loggins. Born in Ft. Hood, Texas, as the daughter of a military father, she regularly taps into her southern roots expertly combined with the culmination of her life experience in order to write her music.
