He presented on Control Systems Cyber Security and highlighted the importance of safeguarding against damage to or compromise of the control systems within every organization. Haegley brought awareness to the vulnerability of control systems for accessing or exploiting an organization’s information system.

Haegley’s distinguished career includes military, federal, civilian and commercial consulting experience. For the past six years, he has brought awareness to the ever-increasing cyber threat to unprotected connected OT devices and has successfully advocated to change laws, DoD policy and standards and academic curricula while initiating the first comprehensive facilities-related control systems cyber security program of its kind within the federal government.

The American Cyber League Center of Excellence offers an interdisciplinary environment in which government entities (federal/local, defense, intelligence, and law enforcement), academia, and corporate entities (finance, manufacturing, infrastructure, and commerce) collaborate to identify, solve, and transfer to the workforce essential innovation and training that improves the capacity of the entire cyber ecosystem to protect and respond to current and emerging cyber threats. Its premier center, located in Stafford, VA, will provide training, research, and facilities that will support this collaborative mission.
