Adopt A Highway Maintenance Corporation® (AHMC), is proud to announce its partnership with the Beautify Virginia Program. Through the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the program allows businesses to sponsor segments of the highway for litter removal. In turn, the sponsor will receive recognition of sponsorship and will have a recognition panel on the shoulder of the highway. Sponsorship not only allows business representation for its sponsors; AHMC performs essential litter removal services, keeping litter from washing into storm drains and polluting our highways.
This partnership will help bring additional awareness to those impacted by litter on the highways.
AHMC and Beautify Virginia aims to change public behavior through improved litter awareness that encourages motorists to participate in keeping the highways clean while recognizing company sponsors for doing their part. The key actions the public can take include
1) Properly disposing of trash rather than throwing litter out of the vehicle
2) Trucking companies covering and securing truckloads that may fall, or blow-off during travel
3) Supporting sponsor businesses for doing their part for the community
