Philanthropists and twin brothers Adam S. Kaplan and Daniel E. Kaplan have demonstrated their continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities by partnering with Dorot, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of homebound seniors.

In celebration of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, the Kaplans have contributed to Dorot’s Kosher Meals at Home program, ensuring isolated Jewish seniors have access to nutritious meals and connection during this special time of the year. As Jewish seniors age, many face increasing challenges with mobility, which limits their ability to shop or prepare meals. For those who live alone, the struggle is magnified.

“The opportunity to support such a meaningful cause during Rosh Hashanah is incredibly important to us,” said Daniel Kaplan. “Jewish seniors who are isolated deserve access to food but also the comfort and dignity that come with a community that cares. By partnering with Dorot, we’re helping make sure no senior goes hungry or feels forgotten.”

Dorot’s Kosher Meals at Home program steps in to provide a lifeline, delivering frozen kosher meals directly to the doors of frail, homebound seniors. Each delivery includes multiple meals, providing nourishment while allowing recipients the flexibility to eat at their convenience.

“We’re thrilled to be part of an organization like Dorot that has been making a tangible difference in the lives of seniors since 1976,” said Adam Kaplan. “Knowing that our contributions help improve their quality of life, especially during such a significant time as the Jewish New Year, is deeply fulfilling.”

This contribution to Dorot is part of a broader mission for the Kaplan brothers, whose Giving Back Initiative focuses on local and global humanitarian efforts. Their philanthropic reach includes partnerships with organizations such as Harvard Hillel, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Autism Cares Foundation. This latest effort with Dorot is another step in their ongoing mission to uplift communities in need.

Founded in 1976, Dorot has been at the forefront of providing services to older adults in New York City, with a mission centered on alleviating social isolation and improving the quality of life for seniors. Dorot’s programs range from food assistance to social engagement, connecting older adults with younger generations through initiatives like the University Without Walls teleconferencing program and the Tech Coaching Program, which teaches seniors digital skills. Volunteers of all ages contribute to Dorot’s mission, fostering meaningful intergenerational connections.

Twin brothers, Daniel E. Kaplan and Adam S. Kaplan are distinguished professionals and philanthropists. Daniel is a risk management expert whose business acumen sets him apart as a leader. Adam’s talent for consulting and depth of entrepreneurial knowledge have positioned him for success in changing markets. Through their Giving Back Initiative, the Kaplans are committed to creating a positive impact, locally and throughout the world. Their support extends to organizations including Harvard Hillel, the Jordan G. McFaull Memorial Scholarship, OneFamily, the Alzheimer’s Association, Autism Cares Foundation, and other causes.
