Salt Lake City, UT (PRUnderground) July 12th, 2017
New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Utah, a leading provider of instructor-led technical training, is pleased to announce that the CyberSec First Responder (CFR-210) training and certification program is now added to their public training schedule, and is newly approved as United States Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8570 compliant. The DoD-8570 Directive provides guidance and procedures for the training, certification, and management of all DoD employees involved with Information Assurance functions. CFR is now an approved Baseline Certification, verifying the skills necessary to perform certain job functions.
The number of exceptional IT security breaches continues to grow exponentially, which is part of an overall trend toward increasingly destructive hacking incidents. These hacking incidents further highlight the enormous demand for qualified security professionals who can protect their organizations’ networks and prevent significant losses. Delivered in an instructor-led setting over a five-day period, CyberSec First Responder is designed for information assurance professionals who perform job functions related to the development, operation, management, and enforcement of security capabilities for systems and networks.
Although the DoD-8570 approval only affects those who directly work with the DoD, the CyberSec First Responder exam validates all security professionals to being the first line of response against cyber-attacks by teaching students to analyze threats, design secure computing and network environments, proactively defend networks, and respond to and investigate cybersecurity incidents. Upon completion of the course, students are able to sit for the high-stakes Certified CyberSec First Responder exam virtually or in-person through PearsonVUE.
“The addition of this course demonstrates New Horizons of Utah’s ability to deliver training for today’s most in-demand cyber security certifications,” says Dave Butterfield. “It also demonstrates our ability to delivery and support training and certification programs that serve our Military customers with the highest degree of protection against an ever-increasing numbers of destructive hacking threats.”
