Over the past year and a half, the nation has faced incredulous hurdles, battles, division, and unrest. However, certain civilians within the communities of our nation have risen above the call of duty to display exemplary character and unparalleled leadership to make their communities a better place. The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards exist to recognize those individuals for their commitment to cultivating lasting change.
The 2021 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards will return for the second year come Friday, November 12th. The affair will be held in Houston, Texas, and will commence promptly at 7:00 PM. Hosted by Sonia White, USAF Veteran, distinguished healthcare worker, and Founder of the BIRTH Project (Bible Initiative Reaching the Homeless), this year’s Awards ceremony will honor many exceptional individuals and feature an exclusive once-in-a-lifetime opera performance by America’s Got Talent finalist, nine-year-old Victory Brinker. Sonia White is widely renowned for hosting Houston’s first, and massively successful, Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2018.
This year’s honorees include Officer Tommy Norman, nationally renowned for his unwavering dedication to his community of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and rapper “Trae Tha Truth”, known as “Houston’s Hometown Hero” for his passion and virility as a leader of various community initiatives throughout the Houston area. Nominated by members of their community, these outstanding individuals are just two of many honorees who have worked tirelessly in their service for humanity and inspiring the people around them to strive for greatness.
Miss Houston 2021, Priscilla Londono, will be the mistress of ceremonies of the four-hour event where guests will hear a guest speech by Officer Tommy Norton before Mya Smith-Edmonds, delivers the keynote address. Mya Smith-Edmonds is a McDonalds multi- franchisee owner and co-founder of the Smith Foundation, Inc non-profit, “People Helping People”. Distinguished guests include Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, in addition to various other community leaders within the Greater Houston Area.
