Exton, PA (PRUnderground) June 12th, 2015
In May, public transportation industry experts met at the APTA Bus and Paratransit Conference. The conference focused on providing individuals from the transportation industry with new technology breakthroughs, insights into today’s operations and maintenance environment and much more.
The three day conference featured the Bus Products and Services Showcase, highlighting the industries latest technologies. 4ONE successfully unveiled multiple new innovations. 4ONE continues to show a commitment to improving the customer experience.
GrabHold
The newly designed GrabHold by 4ONE helps protect passengers from sudden shifts in bus movement. The GrabHold gives passengers who sit in aisle position on a forward facing flip seat something to grab onto in the event of a sudden stop or deceleration. The 4ONE GrabHold is an integral part of the seat, eliminating the cost and bulk of adding a stanchion. The GrabHold provides economical passenger risk protection and complies with all applicable APTA stanchion and armrest standards. The release lever is conveniently located beneath the seat and can be foot actuated. The release handle and GrabHold provide easy seat flip-up for wheelchairs. The flip-up feature allows more floor space and room for walk-on items.
The GrabHold product line is available on the Gemini, Aries, CitiSeat and CitiPro by 4ONE and can also be purchased as a retrofit product for most other seats on the market. The GrabHold comes standard with padding for added comfort and safety and special order colors are available.
Torino G
The Torino G by 4ONE sets new safety standards in protecting belted and unbelted passengers. Advanced safety systems have been developed for both adults and children. The Torino G is equipped with an automatically height adjusting shoulder belt. Currently the Torino G is the best-selling 3-point coach seat in North America.
Shoulder belts emerge from the side of the backrest, freeing passengers of back and shoulder discomfort. The built-in restraint anchorage system makes it easy to safely secure a child car seat. The energy absorbing back panel provides full compartmentalization in case of frontal crashes. Optional grab-handles and sliding flip-up seats for wheelchair accessibility offer additional safety support.
As the most comfortable seat in its class, the newest version of the popular Torino G, the Torino GT, is ergonomically designed for more hip-to-knee room. Shoulder belts emerge from the side of the backrest, freeing passengers of back and shoulder discomfort. Manual reclining allows passengers to adjust the backrest for added comfort. The GT has the strongest recliner mechanism in the industry. A variety of options are available for personalization, including 110V outlets, footrests, magazine pockets, tray tables, audio systems and more. The GT has a newly designed upholstery pattern for improved aesthetics and styling. The Torino GT meets all FMVS and 2016 passenger seating requirements.
Q’POD
The newly redesigned Q’POD by 4ONE has an automotive-quality height-adjustable shoulder belt. The new seatbelt’s sliding mechanisms operate just like those in most cars and gives the wheelchair occupant three inches of up/down movement which provides greater comfort for varying passenger heights and wheelchair styles.
4ONE also added the option to store the rear restraint hooks on the top of the barrier, eliminating the need to bend over to access them. Q’POD by 4ONE’s occupant lap belts can now be conveniently attached to receptacles on the barrier and flip seat, for a seamless and faster securing/detaching process. 4ONE offers the Q’POD with its ultra slim Bantam flip seats, Gemini slim flip and newly redesigned Aries slim flip, along with its traditional line of flip seats.
“The APTA Bus and Paratransit Conference in Fort Worth was a great venue for 4ONE to display innovative seating solutions to key stakeholders and transit properties from across North America. One of the many innovations introduced by 4ONE was the adjustable shoulder belt for the QPOD which was designed with input from transit properties and the ADA community,” said Ray Melleady, Managing Director of USSC Group. He added, 4ONE has produced more than 7000 QPOD’s for the transit industry enhancing the safety and comfort of ADA passengers throughout the industry.”
4ONE passenger seating will be on display all year at expos and conferences throughout the country, including the APTA Rail Conference in Salt Lake City, June 21-24. Visit us online at www.4ONE.com or contact your sales representative for upcoming show dates.
