A surgical supply website in New York is predicting that U.S. doctors perform more vasectomies in 2019.The site, VasectomyStore.com is a web-based surgical instrument and information store that has promoted vasectomy for over 20 years. Their goal is to see a 30% increase in vasectomy during the coming year.

Despite it’s 99.8 success rate, vasectomy remains a largely under-utilized form of birth control. In fact reports indicate that annually only 11% of married couples in the US opt for vasectomy. “Tubal ligations outnumber vasectomies by almost 2 to 1,” reports the Los Angelas Times. “But many experts believe those numbers might reverse themselves if all the facts about these procedures were better known. Serious complications occur more often with tubal ligation.”
