Charitable effort in Kalamazoo to feature sports legend Jim Craig, Western Michigan head football coach P.J. Fleck
Kalamazoo, Michigan (PRUnderground) February 11th, 2015
Zeigler Automotive Group, in keeping with its tradition of giving back, is raffling off a new car as part of the upcoming Drive for Life fundraiser in Kalamazoo.
The event, which is now in its 34th year, is projected to raise more than $400,000 for the American Cancer Society of Southwest Michigan. The winner of the raffle will be able to either drive away in a brand-new car from Zeigler Auto Group or take home a $30,000 cash prize. The event will also feature guest speaker Jim Craig, goalie for the legendary 1980 U.S. men’s Olympic hockey team, along with Western Michigan University head football coach P.J. Fleck.
“We are looking forward to another outstanding Drive for Life event again this year, as it is always a fun evening that results in huge contributions to the American Cancer Society of Southwest Michigan,” said Aaron Zeigler, president of Zeigler Auto Group. “It is great to see people come together to support important causes and rally around a very pressing issue in our community. This year’s event is particularly exciting, as we have the support and contributions of Jim Craig and P.J. Fleck helping to drive the effort.”
The Drive for Life effort regularly attracts more than 600 participants, many of whom enter the raffle and make charitable contributions to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, which serves Allegan, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph and Van Buren counties. In organizing the annual event, which represents one of the longest-running charitable efforts in the region, Zeigler Auto Group has partnered with Greenleaf Trust of Kalamazoo.
“We are proud to be a member of the local business community and believe that it is our responsibility to give back any way we can,” said Zeigler. “We have had a lot of fun at previous Drive for Life events and we are looking to break new records this year to help contribute to cancer research in our community and across the country.”
This year’s Drive for Life will take place April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites in Kalamazoo.
