Universal Broadcasting Network (UBN), host to a loyal audience of 600,000+ worldwide, has been selected to provide live coverage from the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California before, during and after the second Republican Primary debates on Wednesday, September 16th 2015 from 2 pm – 9 pm PST. UBN hosts with an extensive background in journalism will cover the live broadcast. Hosts include: television journalist Dorothy Lucey and 8-time Emmy Award-winning journalist Ana Garcia (“Mending Kids On Air”), and entertainment journalists Deborah Kobylt and Linda Hayes (“Shut Up with Kobylt and Hayes”). Coverage will be streamed live on the UBN website on Channel 3.
UBN President and Radio Personality Tony Sweet explains that “UBN Radio is a place that combines Reality Radio with honesty and integrity…without limits. My vision has always been for it to be an international Internet television and radio station that would take us into the new age of technology and media, and I believe we’re accomplishing that in a way that educates, inspires and makes people think, so we are honored to be a part of this historical event and to bring it to our listeners”.
Coverage shall include the top 10 candidates, and also those who meet the minimum threshold of one percent. Both groups will be moderated by CNN anchor and chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper. With the multimedia capabilities of UBN, people can tune in on any web-based device (ie. Laptop, Desktop, Smartphone or Tablet) and choose whether they prefer to watch the live coverage in a web tv format or listen in a radio format.
“UBN is new media with a twist. Listeners/viewers can get expert coverage from many different, powerful voices and have their own voices heard on topics that are significant to them”, commented Emmy Award-winning Producer Charles Stewart about his current work with UBN.
The following candidates have qualified: Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, John Kasich, Chris Christie, Rand Paul, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Lindsey Graham, and George Pataki.
In addition to the live-streaming coverage, an online chat function is also available for viewers. “Being able to interact with our audience is a special experience, and it’s important, especially for the GOP debates, to know what ‘the people’ are thinking about these issues”, says Sweet (“On Air With Tony Sweet”, “Truth Be Told”). Viewers are able to comment, engage with other viewers and hosts, and ask questions through the live chat. Easy login to participate in the chat is enabled through login via Chatroll, Facebook, or Twitter.
